Fioricet Description
Fioricet is a strong, non-narcotic pain reliever and relaxant. It is prescribed for the relief of tension headache symptoms caused by muscle contractions in the head, neck, and shoulder area. It combines a sedative barbiturate (butalbital), a non-aspirin pain reliever (acetaminophen), and caffeine.
Fioricet Directions for Intake:
- Fioricet is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
- Consume the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
- Take any missed dose as soon as it is remembered. However, do not double the dosage of your medication at any particular assigned time
- In case of Fioricet overdose, seek medical attention immediately
Fioricet Directions for Storage:
- Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat and should not be accessible to children
- The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
Fioricet Side Effects:
- Mild side effects of using this medication include dizziness or drowsiness, shortness of breath, dryness of the mouth, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, rash or itching, and constipation
- Serious side effects include dizziness slow and weak breathing, liver damage, easy or unusual bleeding and bruising, low blood sugar, and allergic reactions
- Fioricet may cause an allergic reaction to some users
Precautions in taking Fioricet:
