Famvir Description
Famvir is a prescription oral antiviral medication that is used for treatment and suppression of recurrent genital herpes, cold sores (Herpes Labialis) and shingles (Acute Herpes Zoster). It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection.
Famvir Directions for Intake:
- Famvir is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
- Consume the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
- It is recommended to drink more fluids while taking this medication
- Take any missed dose as soon as it is remembered. However, do not double the dosage of your medication at any particular assigned time
- In case of overdosing, seek medical attention immediately
Famvir Directions for Storage:
- Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat
- The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Also choose a storage area that is not easily accessible to children
Famvir Side Effects:
- Mild side effects of using this medication include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and tiredness
- Severe side effects include dizziness hallucinations, disorientation, and confusion
- Famvir may cause an allergic reaction to some users
Precautions in taking Famvir:
