Description
Flexeril is a muscle-relaxant that works by blocking nerve-impulses sent to the brain. It is also used to treat pain, tenderness, and limited mobility possibly caused by muscle injuries such as spasms.
Directions for Intake:
- Flexeril is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
- Consume the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
- Take any missed dose as soon as it is remembered. However, do not double the dosage of your medication at any particular assigned time
- In case of Flexeril overdose, seek medical attention immediately
Directions for Storage:
- Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat and should not be accessible to children.
- The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
Side Effects:
- Mild side effects of using this medication include heightened thirst and dryness of the mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, and feeling of weakness, loss of appetite, stomach pain, sore throat and symptoms of colds, and nausea and vomiting
- Serious side effects include fast and uneven heartbeat, chest pain, spreading pain in the arm or shoulder, sudden weakness and numbness, seizure or convulsion, easy bruising or bleeding, and vision, speech and balance problems
- Flexeril may cause an allergic reaction to some users
Precautions:
- Consult your doctor before taking Flexeril. Make sure to give your doctor a complete background of your medical history
- Inform your physician of any other prescription or over-the-counter medications that you’re currently taking, especially the following medications: monoamine oxidase inhibitors, antidepressants, narcotic pain medicine, sedatives, phenothiazines, and tranquilizers
- Inform your physician of any previous or present experience of having liver diseases, overactive thyroid, glaucoma, enlarged prostate, heart diseases and problems, and urination problems
- This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Activities that require you to be alert (i.e. driving or operating heavy machineries) should be avoided
- If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, consult your doctor before taking Flexeril
- If you are lactating, it may be harmful to use Flexeril
