Description
Lexapro is a prescription medication used used to treat depression and anxiety. It works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters such as serotonin) in the brain. Lexapro may improve your feelings of well-being and energy level and decrease nervousness.
Directions for Intake:
- Lexapro is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
- Consume the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
- Take any missed dose as soon as it is remembered. However, do not double the dosage of your medication at any particular assigned time
Directions for Storage:
- Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat and should not be accessible to children
- The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
Side Effects:
- Mild side effects include nausea, dry mouth, trouble sleeping, loss of appetite, weakness, tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, and increased sweating
- Unlikely but serious side effects include unusual or severe mental/mood changes (nervousness, unusual high energy/excitement, rare thoughts of suicide), shakiness (tremor), decreased interest in sex, and changes in sexual ability
- Rare but really serious side effects include stomach pain, fainting, bloody/black/tarry stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, easy bruising/bleeding, muscle weakness/cramps, seizures, irregular/pounding heartbeat, and change in the amount of urine
- Lexapro may cause an allergic reaction to some users
Precautions:

- This may cause increased suicidal tendencies or attacks of depression
