Description
Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant and pain reliever which is used to treat discomforts caused by muscle injuries such as spasms, cramps, strains, and sprains.
Directions for Intake:
- Skelaxin is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
- Taken with a uUsual prescribed dosage of 800 milligrams, three to four times a day
- Consume the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
- Take any missed dose as soon as it is remembered. However, do not double the dosage of your medication at any particular assigned time
- In case of Skelaxin overdose, seek medical attention immediately
- Mainly used together with adequate rest, physical therapy, and other measures for treatment of muscle injuries
Directions for Storage:
- Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat and should not be accessible to children.
- The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
Side Effects:
- Usual side effects include nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal upset, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, and nervousness or irritability
- Skelaxin may cause an allergic reaction to some users
Precautions:
- Consult your doctor before taking Skelaxin. Make sure to give your doctor a complete background of your medical history
- Inform your physician of any other prescription or over-the-counter medications that you’re currently taking, especially the following medications: barbiturates and central nervous system (CNS) depressants
- Inform your physician of any previous or present experience of having impaired hepatic functions as well as kidney problems
- This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Activities that require you to be alert (i.e. driving or operating heavy machineries) should be avoided
- If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, consult your doctor before taking Skelaxin
- If you are lactating, it may be harmful to use Skelaxin
